LPS 95 & C4C65 & Happy Awareness

Today I had a chance to work on some cards. The first one I did for Little Paper Shop Challenge using their sketch with their cute owl stamp for a birthday card.  I tried to make this one a little more masculine even though I did put a bow on it.

Patterned Paper: K & Company & My Mind's Eye - Lush
Cardstock : Bazzil
Border punch: Martha Stewart
Buttons & twine
Ribbon: Michael's
Ink: Close to My Heart: Cocoa & Autumn Terracotta
Markers: Copics

The next card I did for Crazy for Challenges 65 using paper with Happy Holidays written on it by Paper Studio.  The stamp is by Inkadoo which also has writing along with the ribbon from Michael's.  I used the layout from Laura's sketch 70 for this week.

Cardstock: Bazzil
Ink: Memento, cottage ivy & dark cocoa
buttons unknown
border: Quic Kutz

The last card is one that I made for my mother who had breast cancer treatment last year to give to her doctor.  I feel it is the least I can do for her since she has done so much for me over the years, and I am so glad to have her still around and want to keep it that way.  The digital image is from McMahon on Mercy's sketch 101.

Patterned Paper: Basic Grey

Gold Brads: Unknown
Sentiment: Close to My Heart
Ink: Memento, Black Tuxedo

Bugaboo Christmas project & Mojo 166 & Kenny K Tag

Thanksgiving has passed and we are now heading on to the Christmas season.  Bugaboo has a challenge for a Christmas project.  I used the Christmas Mouse Cocoa image and put it on a Close to My Heart pillow holder for a packet of cocoa as a gift.  I used the DCWV Christmas stack paper along with some American Craft ribbon and some buttons.

For my Secret Santa gift, I have some socks so I thought this would be the perfect card.  I used the Maurice Christmas socks digital image from Pollycraft.  I added diamond glaze to the glasses to give them a nice shine.
The design is this weeks Mojo 166 sketch.  I won't get so lucky with all my gifts, it just worked out well for this one.

Patterned Paper: DCWV Christmas Stack
Cardstock: Bazzil
Nestabilities: Small Scalloped Oval
Die Cut: Quic Kutz
Ribbon: American Crafts
Brads: Doodle Bug, swimming pool
Markers: Copic

Kenny K Challenge for this week is to have a card with a tag.  I made a tag card two weeks ago with a chimney and Mrs. Klaus.  This week I did a criss cross card and a tag insert card with Mrs. Klaus.  Since I had this DCWV paper with kraft paper for my other challenge, I used it again since I liked it so much.  I used a Merry Christmas inkadoo stamp and colored it in with my Copic marker.

Patterned Paper: DCWV
Cardstock: Bazzil
Ink: Memento, black tuxedo
Markers: Copic
Flower: Prima
Ribbon: Offray

Happy Thanksgiving & Be Jolly

Happy Thanksgiving!  I am so blessed to have a wonderful and supportive family.
I wanted to sneak in a quick card before we head off for some holiday celebration with family.  I used the Skating Polar Pal from Krafin' Kimmie for my stamp with this "Be Jolly" stamp that I found in my stash.  I can not find a label of who made the stamp it is just listed as "Clear Holiday Stamp" that also came with a small Santa.  The challenge from Kraftin' Kimmie is to use kraft paper.  I used the layout design of Taylored Expression sketch 134 for my card.  I will also submit my card for the There She Goes Challenge which has a color challenge of Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, and White.

Gift Card All that Scraps

The challenge for All that Scraps this week is a card with a gift holder.  I used this digital image of Christmas Emma with the wreath.  I added some bling in the wreath and bow.  I used the patterned paper of Imaginisce the Cottage Christmas line.  In the center of the inside of the card is a fold in which the gift card can slide into.  The layout is using this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.

CPS 91

The new sketch is out for CPS Challenge 91.  I was working on a card today that was just perfect for this layout.  It is using Meljen's design "Frosty Face" which was a freebie image November 15th.  I didn't use any sentiments on the card since I plan to use it for my secret Santa exchange.

Sparkly Birthday Greeting Farms

For Greetings Farms the Challenge this week is to have a sparkly birthday card.  I used this digital image of cupcake Anya for my image and colored her with Copics and with the Spicas.  I used the Core-dinations glitter paper which I just love because the glitter doesn't rub off on you, but it is difficult to glue to.  The yellow ribbon sparkles and I have 3 bling rhinestones from Me and My Big Ideas.

Just Rite 44/ LPS 94 & CPS 90 & Bugaboo

Just Rite Stamps has a color challenge of navy, rust, and gold.  I used the Nested Thanks set as well as the Autumn Set for stamps.  I actually used colored pencils and gamisol which was fun since I haven't done that in awhile.  I embossed the sentiment using Stamp Craft gold embossing powder.  Since this card has quite a few die cuts I will enter it in the Little Paper Shop Challenge also.  I was wanting to use one of their images and make a separate card, but I don't think I'm going to get to it.  Most of my cards use a Spellbinder I find, I just LOVE those things!

Patterned Paper: Basic Grey
Cardstock: Bazzil & Core-dinations
Nestabilities: Oval Large & Small, Circle Small, Label #5, Border Lotus
Gold Brads unknown
Gold rhinestones: Recollections
Flowers: Prima
Ink: Memento, dark cocoa

For my next card I used the Card Pattern Sketch for my layout.  The Christmas horse and jingle bells are Susan Louise designs which as beautiful and easy to work with.  I have taken classes from the artist Penny who is talented and a wonderful person.  This also came with a stocking of toys with a dog and a raggedy ann doll.  I needed to use the horse due to the positioning of the card.  Since these are clear I use Zip Dry glue which holds well and dries fast.  They come in a variety of sets, along with minis.  See below for details.

Patterned Paper: Kaiser
Cardstock: Bazzil & Core-dinations
Ribbon: Michael's
Nestabilities: Rectangle

See my card on August 22, 2010 for more samples.

This week Bugaboo has a sketch challenge.  I used the Be Nice to Me Nurse digital Image.  I used Diamond Glaze on the glove and glasses which is hard to show up on the picture.  Being a nurse I tried to make the squares look like paperwork.  I have a friend who had arthroscopic surgery on Monday so I was trying to make the card more masculine for him.

Thinking of you & Kimmie Funky Fibers

The Stamping Baazar has another sketch challenge this week.  So this is the card that I came up with using the Josie in the hat digital image.

Patterned Paper: Basic Grey
Cardstock: Bazzil
Flowers: Prima
Buttons & twine
Stamp: "Thinking of You" Close To My Heart
Ink: Memento, Dark Cocoa
Markers: Copic
Border Punch: Martha Stewart
Nestabilities: Small & Large Circles
Pearls: Recollections

Kraftin' Kimmie has a challenge for funky fibers.  I used the new Claire image with the Nutcracker.  My daughter has done the ballet for quite a few years, and I hate to say that I miss being involved in the production.  I do not miss getting her hair in those ringlets!  When you watch the performance I enjoy the rich velvet colors which is what I tried to portray in my card.  I used several different stitches on my sewing machine.  I left a white border around the image for a contrast since the card is so dark. For the layout I used Mercy's sketch which is her 100th one!

Patterned Paper: Little Yellow Bicycle
Embossing Folder: Sizzix
Cardstock: Bazzil & core-dinations
Markers: Copic
Ink: Memento, Black tuxedo
Ribbon: Wrights & Michaels
Black thread
Nestabilities: Large Oval

I found a picture of the kids from December 2005 when they were both in the production- now it seems so long ago.

Spots & Sparkle - C4C63/ Masculine Pixie/ SOG

Kenny K Challenge #19 for the this week is to have spots and sparkle.  For my card I used this weeks SSSC 93 for the layout design.  I used the Kenny K Luscious Linda for my digital image and colored her with my Copics including the Spicas which have the glitter.  The paper is My Minds Eye - Here Comes Christmas which has a luster to it with sparkle.  The design with the Christmas trees has dots on it.  The prima poinsettias also have a touch of glitter and the gold brad.  I added 3 rhinestones on the top on the label #10 on the core-dinations paper that definitely has glitter in it.  And the thread is white with silver that is threaded in the button.  I love the Kenny K designs and making cards with them because they are sassy enough to make me smile.
I also can use this card for the Crazy for Challenges which is a Christmas card.

Pixie Dust Challenge is for a masculine card.  I thought of entering the above Kenny K, but I did complete a card using a Pixie Dust image of Prince Charming.  My daughter was telling me that I needed some masculine cards since she wanted one to give to her boyfriend anyway.

Cardstock: Bazzil
Striped paper: Kaiser
Embossing folder: Sizzix
Nestabilities: Oval small & large
Die cut: crown, Quic Kutz
Markers: Copics
Your my prince - Computer font

Some Odd Girl Challenge is for an altered background.  I used their new sentiment of "Thank you Cherry Much" as my background printed on a piece of Bazzil Cardstock.  I then have the Nana Split image in a circle nestabilitie with a gingham bow as a simple thank you card.  I have been thinking about this card all week, but just didn't take the time to make it.  Then I thought the challenge closed early, but was lucky that it re-opened so I could make the card.
I spoke too soon. When I went to post the card at 10:50pm central time so 11:50 eastern time, it was already closed again....so I guess it wasn't meant to be.

Mojo 165 - All that Scraps Cupcake birthday & Cosmo Christmas

I just love this weeks Mojo sketch design.  I adapted it slightly given that my stamped image could not fit into a circle.  I made this cupcake birthday card for the All that Scraps Birthday Challenge for this week.  I used the digital image of cupcake Kiki. The sentiment is from Stepping Stones Stamps.  The pastel paper reminds me of the sprinkles that is found on pastries which is a favorite of my daughter.

Patterned Paper: The Paper Studio
Cardstock: Bazzil
Markers: Copic
Ink: Memento, Black Tuxedo
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug

Then I did a sample of the new Cosmo Cricket Winter Mittens line of paper for display at the store.  It is a simple card.

Spellbinders: Poinsettia & Label #9
Stamp: Merry Christmas, My Minds Eye, Holly Jolly Stamp Set
Border Punch: Fiskars

Dimension

I used this digital image of Some Odd Girls - Cold Kaylee which I thought was great for today when they were predicting that we would get some snow, but it was just cold and rainy.  I used this weeks SFYTT sketch which I just loved.  The sponsors this week have adorable stamps.  Since my husband is home during the day, it is hard to sneak any mail packages past him since he is the one who gets to the box first.  Some Odd Girls is having a challenge that is to have at least two items of dimension.  I have a snowflake on the center of the bow, another snowflake is on a pop-dot, and the bow is standing up on the right side with a snowflake holding it down on the bottom.  I think you can see this on the second photo I have of the card.

Angel

When it comes to Christmas we associate angels, and I thought this one was so adorable holding on to the fuzzy baby bird.  I made it into a robin, but couldn't decide on if it should be a cardinal, but I didn't want to add the bright red color to this one.  I colored this card for the Color Create Challenge which is to use the colors of Black, mint green, gold, and cream and to have sparkles or fireworks.  I went with the sparkles on the wings and the white prima poinsettias.

For You & Kittenz & TSG 81

I love easel cards.  I made the following card using the adorable digital image of Josie-Hat from the Stamping Baazar for this weeks Sketch Challenge.  The image has this adorable kitten smelling a flower so I put two primas on the front and one on the inside with the centers being buttons.  I then added three additional buttons to the right corner.  The patterned paper is a K & Company with my cardstock being Bazzil.  I have four cats and none of mine look this innocent.  I did show the picture of Jazzy in a box back when I got this image.

I was lucky enough to win There She Goes Challenge 81 for this card.
