TLC, Create Blog Hop

It's finally here the TLC, Create Blog Hop and you should have arrived from Carla's blog.  If this is your first stop then to start, go to Cynthia's blog so that you don't miss any of the wonderful freebies.  The images are all wonderful and are "Celebrating Children" in honor of Childrens' Day.  Paulette from TLC, Create has donated all of these wonderful images that we will have along the way so make sure to go back TLC, Create to thank her for them.  She has a wonderful web site that has at least one if not several free images or sentiments per day besides lots of reasonable images available for purchase for every occasion.  She also has clubs where you receive emails of images and sentiments for a particular theme.  For example, the November club will be from October 8 - 17 and Paulette will be sending out word art, vintage papers, colored clipart, collages...of Thanksgiving, football and shopping.  When I receive the emails it is like receiving a present.  If you are interested in the November Club check it out here, and believe me the price is worth the amount of images and sentiments that you receive!

Your next stop is Rhonda and if I know her, she will have some wonderful project so enjoy, and remember to thank our generous host, Paulette at TLC, Create.

Check back with me in a couple of weeks, I am looking at giving away some blog candy.  Enjoy the rest of your fall weekend!

Chilly

I'm still here.  My work schedule has changed so that I'm going to be working day shift for a while now.  It has been a harder adjustment than I thought.  Yesterday I had a horrible migraine, and I think it is because I have not been on a day schedule since I was on a cruise with my Mother and Daughter in March.  Last weekend I worked night shift and then converted right away on Monday so I really didn't have a lot of time to adjust.  Then my daughter, Amanda came home on Thursday to celebrate her golden birthday.  We did lots of shopping.  Her schedule has kept her so busy that she has lost quite a bit of weight so she needed some new clothes.  Then my husband started radiation therapy on Friday so it really has been a whirlwind.  When I went outside yesterday, the wind was cool and fall is coming as I noticed all the leaves starting to fall.  We have a yard with LOTs of trees.

My first card uses a cute image from TLC, Create.  It comes as a set of four square images.  My second card is using the new SSSC sketch and another image from TLC, Create called Harvest Time.  My final card is using this weeks Splitcoast colors and sketch to make the card.  The patterned paper and image is from TLC, Create and the wreath is available in the Pink Christmas Set.

Monday Cards

Well I did it.  I actually worked a day shift today.  It has been over a year since I did one, and I worked the weekend so I worked Friday and Saturday night with getting done on Sunday morning having to adjust to going to work for Monday at 7am.  I have today off for an appointment later today, but I couldn't help it to stay up to work on a couple cards.

I did a card for Mo's Challenge with buttons using the adorable image of Baby Angel Castiel which I had colored quite some time ago.  I used the sentiment from TLC, Create.  I outlined the wing in Sakura glitter pen.  My second card is using the Mojo Monday sketch for this week and the new Verve stamp set of  Wonderfully Made.

Golden birthday

My dear daughter will turn 20 on the 20th to have her Golden Birthday.  I am hoping that she will be able to come home on her birthday since she doesn't have class on Thursday afternoons or Fridays.  She has her schedule so tight that she has been having difficulty finding time to eat.  She has been working at a nursing home and at the dorm so on Sunday she is working from 6am - 2:30 pm at the nursing home and then she is working from 4pm to 10pm at the dorm which I think is just too much especially since she has early classes. I have to work on my daughter who likes to over do it!!!  Since she has been little I have called her my princess so Paulette came out with the perfect sentiment last week that I used on her birthday card.
Then one of her good friends, Nicole had her dog pass away so I used this wonderful sentiment from TLC, Create which I have had the need to use quite a bit lately. I am using the card for the Saturated Canary "B" Challenge and my card has bows, blue color and button.  My third card is for a co-worker that is having a baby shower next weekend.  She knows the sex of the baby, but she won't tell us so I tried to make the card as neutral as I could.

Hurry up and wait

I feel like there is so much to get done lately, but then I have to wait for test results from the doctor to make more plans so that life is a "Hurry up and wait" game.  Some things seem to be going by so fast while others seem to be taking forever.  Then again, life seems to short and unpredictable.  After working a night shift on Sunday I attended an inservice on Monday morning and then stopped at Cosco on the way home.  After packing my car with fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries I heard some commotion a couple of cars down where an elderly woman 90 years old fell face first in the parking lot carrying her smoothing to the  car.  She slashed her nose and it was bleeding like crazy and she skinned her knee and hand.  Luckily her daughter had a washcloth in the car and she was able to apply pressure, the store got her an ice bag.  I stayed by as a medical person until the ambulance arrived.  Her daughter drove her to the hospital where I think she probably will have received several stitches to the upper part of her nose/forehead area.  She may have received a CT scan of her head since she was getting a rather large lump on her head too.  I felt so bad for her, but the staff of the store was very helpful.  I'm sure she felt like Humpty Dumpty.

For my first card, I made a fall card using a beautiful saying from TLC, Create about falling leaves.  My second card uses this weeks Merry Monday Sketch and an image from Birdie Brown along with sentiment from TLC, Create.

Happy Birthday Daddy

Today is my Dad's Birthday.  I was able to spend some time with him on Friday.  He attended a conference which was half way between our homes so I met my parents in the area and they brought my daughter too.  She doesn't have any classes on Fridays so she was spending the day with my Mother shopping while my Dad was attending the conference.  I joined the girls and then we all had dinner together.  When my Dad comes to visit me, I usually have several handy-man jobs that he helps us with so Mo's image was perfect for him since he usually goes with his tools.  My second card is using a stamp from Verve and a sentiment from the Halloween Club at TLC, Create.  My final card is using paper and a stamp from TLC, Create.
