New Year with Old Friends

Last week, Paulette had this freebie at TLC which I just loved as a sentiment.  The patterned paper is also from TLC from last years' club.  I thought it would be perfect for one friend that I didn't get a chance to get a Christmas card out to.
Wishing everyone a Happy and Blessed New Year! Celebrate safely.  We are predicted to get 2-4 inches of snow tonight so I'm hoping the roads will be safe.

Dog kiss Merry Merry Christmas

I made this card for my step-son who got a German Shephard this past year.  He loves his new dog so I thought this was the perfect image for him.  He lives in South Carolina so he can wear shorts for Christmas whereas here in WI we are getting eight inches of snow right now.  The sentiment is a freebie from TLC.

For this card the background paper and the image are both from TLC.  I distressed the outside of my image with copper ink which my husband liked the look of.  He like the monochromatic green card.

Skate Love this holiday season

Many of the piece from this card are from TLC.  The paper and skate were part of a previous club and the sentiment is available in the store.  I used non-traditional colors for this card just for a little fun.  On Thursday evening we had some freezing rain, and a co-worker and myself felt like we were ice skating down a LONG path to a door of an apartment building to go do a home visit for a patient.  Luckily neither of us fell!

Holidays are a hoot

My step-daughter is into "owls" right now so I used this freebie digital download that I had as my Christmas image for her card.  The sentiment is from a great set at TLC that comes with five phrases.  I made it a simple card so that I could mail it without any problems to her.  My husband loves the base color which I used for the cards for both of his kids.

I haven't had a chance to get all my Christmas cards completed since I have been working now and taking care of my husband.  I have had things started or planned so I finally spent the day working on a bunch.  This is a card that uses a cute image from Graphic Fairy and gorgeous paper from TLC.

Birthday wishes for Jim

With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, my step son's birthday is on December 30th.  He will be 28 years old.  I'm still trying to get all my holiday cards done and mailed out, but wanted to make his birthday card.  This year he got a German Shepherd pup and now he is getting to be a rather LARGE dog.  I thought this was a cute image from Paper Shelter.  I used the already colored image and put another image on top for a 3-D effect on the dog.  The sentiment is from a wonderful set from TLC with 10 phrases.  I distressed the paper and inked the edges with Memento ink to give a roughed up look to go with the sassy pup.

I actually colored this image some time ago, but finally put together this card.  I used Bearly Mine papers and sketch.  Since it had the bird, I used the Prima flower that had feathers along with a Wild Orchid Rose.  The sentiment is from TLC

Learned from Santa

I just love this sentiment from TLC.  I used an image from Graphic Fairy that I thought was perfect with a roly poly Santa.  I kept it monochromatic for the "Santa" theme.  I added a snowball bling to the hat and since it has been so cold around here I added some mittens to the bottom.  I just wish I was as flexible as Santa, LOL.

O Holy Night

Today we had a high of 2 degrees it was freezing cold.  My hair stylist came to the house and cut my husband's hair and trimmed his beard so he looks a lot more presentable.  I was sending pictures to my daughter on my phone and she responded that she was at the hospital with her Grandmother who had a stroke and was being evaluated.  My -ex mother-in-law had a stroke, but has some left arm numbness otherwise is doing alright.  It was nice of my daughter to be with them since her Grandfather was quite upset.
I haven't had a chance to color an image in a while so finally did one using this adorable Sassy Cheryl image.  The sentiment is from TLC.    I outlined the wings and halo with Sakuro glitter pen.  I'm planning for this card to be for my daughter for Christmas.

Let it snow

Well this is how I felt the other day dealing with the snow, except i don't think I had a smile. :)  The wonderful sentiment is from TLC.  My friend told me,  "I don't know how you do the snow blowing and shoveling?"  Well, with my husband having cancer and being bed bound - like I have a choice.  I can't hire someone to do all the work that needs to be done.  Luckily, I do know how to do such things.  My Mom and daughter are princesses, but my Dad did teach me how to be independent not because he wanted to but on my persistence.  Now, I feel glad that he did!!!

Learned from a snowflake

Well, yesterday we got 4.3 inches of snow. I am so lucky to have a wonderful snow blower. The roads were a mess today so I was lucky to be inside most of the day.  The problem was the winds and the blowing and that is rather cold with a high of 14.  On the news, they were talking about it being snuggling weather.  I did sneak away to make a quick card using a wonderful sentiment from TLC.

Holly Jolly Christmas

I finally got a chance to do a couple of quick Christmas cards.  I can't believe has fast this month is going.  I just pulled out a few decorations FINALLY!!!  My 17 year old son was complaining that I didn't have out our advent calendar - which is funny since my BIG boy still likes to move the Santa on our Christmas tree advent calendar.  For my card I used a wonderful sentiment from TLC.
