Happy St. Patrick's Day to Ewe!

My heritage is 100% Polish so it is funny that I make St. Patrick's Day cards, but I just love some of the images and green is my son's favorite color.  I also just like to have fun.  I made this card using a paper from TLC that I got from a club (a new club will be starting on March 8th, you can check that out here).  The image and sentiment is from Bugaboo.

Loss of your Mother

I know I have been posting a lot of cards lately, but it just so happened that I have switched jobs and had an opportunity to have some time off in between.  I was planning to do some cleaning and organizing of my house, but I found it much more fun and fulfilling to make cards instead.  It happens to be the one year anniversary today since my husband's death.  That is why I am needing to do the cleaning.  I did manage to go through clothes and take 15 rubbermaid bins to the Salvation Army for donation.  So I'm working on it.  Since my husband was ill, I took nursing jobs to best take care of him and fit in with the family.  However, now that my children are busy with their lives, I can now focus on my career again so I have taken a nursing management position.  I am excited for this opportunity, but may regret it after I have a different stress in my life, hehe. The sad part is that I have to start with training on the day shift which is at 6am which is when I am usually going to bed so.....this is a big adjustment to switch schedules once again.
The other sad part, is that I have had a need for quite a few sympathy cards lately.  I made this one for a great aunt that passed away.  The sentiment is from a wonderful set at TLC.

Loss of your Daughter

My daughter came home this weekend which I was so excited to spend time together.  On Friday, she received a call that she is an Assistant Manager at the Resident Hall and that for some unknown reason they needed to perform CPR on a 19 year girl.  My daughter was upset that she wasn't there, but it is rare that she comes home.  On Tuesday, it will be a year that my husband, her step Dad passed away so we were emotional to begin with.  Then on Saturday night she received another phone call that the young lady passed away.  My daughter was very upset thinking about the poor parents who were going to be coming to pick up the belongings at some point.  Needless to say....I couldn't sleep.  I made this card for my daughter to give to the parents.  I know that my daughter understands grief and loss and she has a lot of compassion.  I just know what it is like to lose a spouse; however, I can't imagine losing a child.  We always feel it isn't fair when someone so young dies and hasn't lived a full life.  My prayers and thoughts go out to all who have lost children or young ones, especially this week.  I just took 7 rubbermaid bins to the Salvation Army of my husband's clothes since this is the first I was able to part with those things.  It has been a process and I'm moving on.
For my card, I used a wonderful sentiment from a great set at TLC.  I also used a vintage image from TLC.  I kept the card rather simple.

Happy Anniversary

This upcoming week, my parents will celebrate 47 years together.  They are a wonderful example for our family.  It is rare that they are home, since they are always on the "go" doing something to make the most of their days.  They exhaust me just hearing about what they do, and they say they are retired.  Usually I make them a mushy, sentimental card, but this year I went for funny.  I actually used Sizzix card embossing dies and real poker chips and a deck of cards for the inside.  My Mom doesn't check my blog, but she does look at facebook.  I added some Crystal Accents on the eyeglasses.  My Dad doesn't have gray hair, but I thought it looked better on the image.  The sentiment is from TLC on the outside and Bugaboo on the inside.

Many thanks

I can't believe we are into February already.  I finally was able to get together with my sister-in-law and her family the other night for dinner.  We still needed to do our Christmas exchange which seems so weird, but we have been on different schedules and have been having so much going on.  It was wonderful to finally sit down and talk.  I want to send a thank you card for the wonderful gift so this is what I came up with.  I used a sentiment from TLC.  I outlined the white pieces with a gold leafing pen.

Frosty

Here is a card that I made using a white embossed snowflake background put on white paper.  I inked the edge of the sentiment which is from TLC and the paper with grey ink just to define the edges.  For the sentiment I punched it out as a Spellbinder pennant and just cut off the banner portion.  I added a white zig zag ribbon and white snowflake punches with a gem in the center.  I put a snowflake button on the "o" in frosty and a bling on the ball of the cap.  As cold as it has been here lately, this is how I feel getting from my car to a store is that I have to skate there.  Today we are to warm up and then drop back down again.  At least we aren't getting hit with inches of snow so it could be worse.

I made this card using the SOTM from Deedee's digis.  I used a sentiment from TLC.  I had a heart that was left from a die cut that I used on another card.  I happened to have some orange and black twine...I just don't know where it came from.  I made it a CAS card.

Hip Hip Hooray

I colored this image from Mo Manning and used a sentiment from TLC to make my card.  I used some bright colors for the jersey.  I put a ribbon on the project with a bow, but used a button as a hockey puck. We have it so cold right now that the kids can only play indoors since it is about 2 with windchills blowing. I know the states out East are getting hit with lots of snow at least we don't have that coming right now.  No matter what - everyone needs to bundle up and stay safe!

I just had to get this image from Mo's since I just love almost ALL of her images. I have a nephew who has a PUG and this just reminds of his pup.  I kept the card simple.  I did add Crystal Accents to the heart to give it a glossy look and depth.

Groovy kind of LOVE

I grew up with my Mom wearing lots of high heel shoes, and owning LOTS of shoes! Well we could just say that shoes are her "thing" so when I saw this stamp at Bugaboo....I just had to get it.  My Mother has shoe trees to store. It is quite a system.  I used to say that my Mom was short; however, that is no longer politically correct she is height challenged so she has shoes in a variety of heights. Now that she received breast cancer treatment she had a side effect of some peripheral neuropathy so she is not able to wear the skinny spiked heels anymore or put as much pressure on her toes.  She will love this card with the bling! The sentiment is from TLC which can be found in two different sets.
